The Ashland community and surrounding areas have a high percentage of unemployed residents and people seeking community resources. This directory provides help for those seeking services by providing a comprehensive list of local programs that offer assistance.
This much needed directory was compiled by a AmeriCorps VISTA and funded by the Department of Public Instruction as an “Economic Recovery with Public Libraries Project”.
The Economic Recovery Project goal is: “To build capacity for increased community access to local resources in economically depressed communities by implementing a sustainable process for community partnerships”.
There are five areas of economic recovery covered in this directory: employment and job skills training, financial planning, health and nutrition, as well as education resources and housing resources. Local programs are listed under those five areas. You will find program names, the services they provide, addresses, phone numbers, contact persons, email addresses and links to websites if available.
Also listed in this directory are local volunteer opportunities; a valuable resource for those who are want to give back to their community. The categories are: education, environmental, groups, faith based, wellness and other.
