Use the Internet
The Vaughn Public Library currently has 5 public access computers on the 1st floor with B &W or color printing available for a charge. One of these computers has an ADA keyboard and is located on a height adjustable table (monies received from a LSTA grant from NWLS). Computers are available for a 60 minute session, and upon request Library Staff can extend the session an additional 30 minutes if nobody is waiting. If the computers on the 1st floor are busy, you may make a reservation on our Pharos reservation computer. The monitor will "queue " you when a computer is available for use on the 1st floor. Patrons ages 14 and above may use the computers located in the Simpson Technology Room (see below).
SIMPSON TECHNOLOGY ROOM
There are 6 public access computers on the 2nd floor in the Simpson Technology Room with B & W or color printing available for a charge. These computers are available for a 120 minute session, and upon request Library Staff can extend the session an additional 30 minutes. There are no reservations required for use of the computers in the Simpson Technology Room and access is limited to patrons 14 and older.
LOGIN TO THE PUBLIC COMPUTERS
If you have a card from any library served by NWLS (Northern Waters Library Service), including VPL, you can login to use any of the public access computers, using your library card bar code as the ID and your date of birth as your password. NOTE: The password must be entered in this format, including hyphens '-'.
For example, if your birthdate is March 5, 1990, you would enter 03-05-1990 for your password.
If you are a visitor, see Library Staff at the Circulation Desk to obtain a guest card.
The library also has WiFi available if you bring in your own laptop with wireless connectivity.
